Wheat Flour dosa is a quick and easy dish which you can prepare in 20 minutes. Normally for dosa, we need to soak rice, urid dal for many hours and grind it and then ferment it. But Wheat flour dosa is very simple and can be made with ready made flours without much effort. It is a healthy dish too as we are using wheat flour. We can also make this for dinner.

Wheat Flour1 Cup
Rice Flour1/2 Cup
SaltTo Taste
Cumin Seeds1 teaspoon
Green Chillies2
Curry LeavesFew
Oil1/4 Cup
Hing1/4 teaspoon

  1. Mix the flours and salt. Add water and make it to a thin batter

  2. Finely chop the green chillies and keep it aside. In a pan, pour the oil and jeera and when the jeera starts to sputter add the chopped green chillies and hing and fry for sometime and remove from flame

  3. Add the seasoned ingredients to the dosa batter and mix well

  4. Heat the thawa and pour little batter and spread evenely and make it thin 

  5. Roast the dosa on both the sides and then prepare the remaining dosas in the same manner

  6. Serve the WheatFlour Dosa along with Gun powder, Tomato Chutney, Mint chutney or sambar

  • We can also finely chop 1 onion and fry it along with green chillies and then prepare the dosa
  • If we have leftover normal dosa batter, we can add wheat flour to it and prepare a batter instead of using rice flour

  1. Whenever we make batter for Dosa,we keep one cup aside and after using Dosa batter for atleast three days(we make batter once in a week only)On the forth day we add 2 cups of wheat flour with the one cup kept aside and rest as shown above and make Dosa.It will be very tasty.
