Paruppu thugayal is an easy to do dish and it is simple and yummy in taste. This goes well with all types of Rasam(especialliy Jeera rasam, Araitha rasam) and even with Lemon Rice. Paruppu Thugayal is rich in protein and hence good for health.

Paruppu Thugayal

Thur dhal3/4 Cup
Red chilli3
SaltTo Taste
Grated Coconut2 Teaspoon
Ghee1 Teaspoon


  • In a heavy bottomed pan, add ghee and to this add dhal and red chilli and fry till the dhal becomes golden brown color.
  • Grind the above fried ingredients along with salt, grated cocunut to a fine paste
  • Now the yummy paruppu thugayal is ready to serve.
