Curry leaves is medicinal in nature. Curry leaves make the eyes cool and reduce the heat in the body. It is good for hair and it prevents greying of hair. It also helps to control gastric content in our body. Curry leaves powder is a very delicious recipe and since we are preparing it as a powder it will be good and we can keep it for many months. We can mix Kariveppilai Podi (Curryleaves Powder) with rice along with ghee or gingelly oil for yummy taste.

Ingredients:

Curry leaves2 Cups
Red Chilli4
Urdal3 tablespoon
Channa Dal1 table spoon
Peppercorns1/2 Teaspoon
Cumin Seeds1 Teaspoon
SaltTo Taste
Hing1/2 teaspoon
TamarindA small Gems size
* 1 Cup = 250ml

Method:
  1. Wash the curry leaves thoroughly. Spread the washed curry leaves in a clean towel and keep it in shady place and allow it to dry completely. 
  2. Dry roast the Dals, red chillies, peppercorns, cumin seeds and tamarind and fry till the Dals becomes golden brown color. Take this aside
  3. Heat a pan, and dry fry the curry leaves till it becomes crispy and take this aside
  4. First grind the dals and spices along with salt to a coarse powder. 
  5. Then, add curry leaves and grind everything to a smooth powder
  6. The mouth-watering curry leaves powder is ready to serve. Store it in air-tight container. You can keep it in refrigerator to maintain the freshness
  7. Serve the delicious Kariveppilai Podi (Curryleaves Powder) with hot rice with one spoon of ghee
