Karamani Payaru (Yard long beans) Poriyal

Ingredients:
Karamani Payaru (Long beans)1/4 Kg
SaltTo Taste
Turmeric Powder1/2 teaspoon


For Grinding:
Grated Coconut2 tablespoon
Cumin Seeds1/2 teaspoon
Red Chilli1

For Seasoning:
Oil1 teaspoon
Mustard Seeds1 teaspoon
Split Urid dal1 teaspoon

Method:
  1. Wash the long beans and finely chop them. Add the chopped long beans in a vessel and add water to soak the beans along with pinch of turmeric and salt and cook it. Drain any excess water using a colander and keep the cooked long beans ready

  2. Meanwhile, take the grinding ingredients in a mixer and grind it to a nice powder 

  3. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. When the mustard seeds starts to sputter, add split urid dal and fry till it becomes golden brown color. Now add the cooked long beans and mix well. Adjust salt if needed

  4. Then add the ground coconut mixture and mix well. Keep the karamani payiru poriyal in flame for 5 minutes and then remove from flame

  5. The yummy Karamani Payaru (Yard long beans) Poriyal is ready to serve with any rice varieties
