Oats Pakoda, a simple, crispy and yummy snack. We all love pakoda varieties especially during evening hours and also during rainy days. I was so desperate to have some kind of crispy and spicy snack with my tea today so ended up doing this mouth-watering oats pakoda which is so delicious and crunchy.
|Preparation Time||10 mins|
|Cooking Time||30 mins|
|Cooking Oats||1/2 Cup*|
|Besan flour (Chickpeas Flour)||1/2 Cup|
|Rice Flour||1/4 Cup|
|Red chilli powder||1 teaspoon|
|Cumin Seeds||1/2 teaspoon|
|Fennel seeds||1/2 teaspoon|
|Coriander Powder||1 teaspoon|
|Chopped Coriander Leaves||1 tablespoon|
* 1 Cup Capacity = 250ml
- Soak the oats in 1/2 a cup of water for 5 minutes. Meanwhile, in a bowl, take the flours along with red chilli powder, salt, hing, cumin and fennel seeds and mix well
- Add the soaked oats and give a good mix. Finally add curry leaves and chopped coriander leaves and mix it and keep it ready. Now our pakoda batter is ready
- Heat oil in a pan, when the oil is hot enough, take little batter in your hand and just drop it gently in the oil. We don't need to make a circle out of batter, we could just drop the batter here and there and keep the flame in medium and fry the pakodas. Gently stir and turn the pakodas to fry them evenly in all sides. When they turn golden brown color and becomes crispy, remove from oil and place it in paper towel to drain the excess oil. Repeat this step for the remaining batter
- The crispy, crunchy and yummy oats pakoda is now ready to serve. Slurp!!!
