Besan / Gram Flour2 Cups*
Powdered Sugar1.25 Cup
Cardamom Powder1/4 Teaspoon
Ghee1/2 cup + 3 Tablespoon
Coarse Almond Powder1/4 cup
Cashews 1 Tablespoon

* 1 Cup = 250ml

  1. Heat a heavy bottomed pan. Add 3 tablespoon of ghee and add cashews. Roast the cashews in ghee till they are golden brown and take the roasted cashews along with ghee in a separate bowl
  2. In the pan, add 1/2 cup of ghee. Add besan and roast the besan in ghee in a medium flame till it gives a nice aroma and turns golden brown color. Do not keep the flame in high otherwise, the besan will turn red quickly but would have been cooked. Also it will get burnt. So keep the flame in medium and mix with spatula continuously to prevent besan from burning. 
  3. When you get a nice aroma and the besan turns golden brown, switch off the flame. Allow the roasted besan to cool off 
  4. Then, add powdered sugar, cardamom powder, coarse almond powder and roasted cashews with ghee and mix everything well
  5. If the mixture is very dry, melt some more ghee and add little by little. Now take fistful of besan ladoo mixture and hold it and make it like a lemon sized ball. Repeat the step for the rest of ladoo mixture
  6. Besan Ladoo is now ready to serve!
