There are variety of kachori we can make and I have already shared the recipe for Khasta Kachori and Matar Kachori . Poha Kachori is another delicious variety of kachori. Its very simple to make and tastes so good. Outer cover we are going to make with bread and potato and we are going to stuff this with poha / puffed rice and deep fry them. Kachori can be made and stored for a couple of days in the fridge. With this recipe you can also make kachori chaat by adding toppings of sweet and spicy chutney, yogurt, chaat masala and sev. A perfect evening snack with hot coffee/ tea and relish with tamarind chutney, green chutney or red chili garlic chutney.
Tips for making Poha Kachori
- Mash the potatoes thoroughly as potatoes with bread pieces are kneaded as outer cover.
- We can use any type of bread, wheat or white.
- Squeeze and drain water from poha completely. Then only the filling will be soft and also easy to make it as a dumpling.
- Adjust the spices according to your spice level.
- Make sure to seal the filling completely within the potato outer cover so that the filling doesn’t come out while deep frying.
- While deep frying keep the flame medium so that the kachoris get fried without getting burnt.

Hi Manju, you can shallow fry the kachoris.
hi mami,
can i substitute potato with any other ingredient?
Hi, The potato which has starch helps to hold the outer cover. But we can omit potato and use only bread pieces also.
Thank you 🙂
