So I always love to make vathakal curry instead of roast. Try this simple and easy Seppangkizhangu Vathakal | Tara Root Stir-Fry Recipe and I’m sure you will love it!
Few tips to make best tasting Seppankizhangu Stir Fry
- Usually we pressure cook the Seppankizhangu first and then we make the seppankizhangu stir fry. But in this recipe, we are cooking them directly. To enable quicker and uniform cooking, we need to chop the Kizhangu in to smaller pieces.
- Try to cook them preferably in the non-stick pan. With non-stick pan we need very less oil to cook this stir fry. However if you don’t prefer non-stick pan, use the heavy bottomed pan. You may need slightly more oil to cook in the heavy bottomed pan.

Mam, this is ok for less quantity.
What about for 1 kg and more. Is it scalable to peel and cut the small arbi when the quantum is more?
Pls suggest and put a new and easy recipe for that also????…I am a big fan of subbuskitchen. Thanks
Hello Subha, Thanks for your comments. For larger quantities, it’s advisable to pressure cook the arbi, peel the skin and stir fry it. Please refer the recipe in the link below for the same – https://www.subbuskitchen.com/seppankizhangucheppankizhangu-roasttaro/
