Tips for making Beans Masala Rice:

  1. Wash and soak rice for 20 mins. This will make the rice cook faster with less water.
  2. We can use any regular white rice like Ponni rice, sona masoori, basmati etc.
  3. While dry roasting spices, make sure to add sesame seeds at the end. They tend to roast so quickly and if we add first with rest of ingredients it may get burnt.
  4. If you like, you can also add some peanuts while roasting or we can add peanuts while tempering.
  5. Ghee gives a rich flavor to the rice. If you are vegan, replace with oil.
  6. We can also use a pressure cooker to cook this rice. Follow all the steps and after adding water, salt and coriander leaves close the cooker and cook in low flame for 15 mins. Allow the pressure to release naturally.
  7. Relish with any Raita or stir-fry veggies.
