Ingredients

  • Cups Wheat Flour
  • ¾ Cup Gram Flour (Besan / Chickpea Flour)
  • ¼ teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • ½ teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • ½ teaspoon Ajwain / Carom Seeds / Omam
  • ¼ teaspoon Asafoetida (Asafetida / Hing)
  • ¼ Cup Coriander Leaves
  • 2 teaspoon Ginger grated
  • 2 no Green Chili
  • 2 tablespoon Butter
  • 1 teaspoon Salt

Instructions

  • Take a mixing bowl and add gram flour, wheat flour, and the other ingredients. Mix well. Gradually add water while mixing, then knead until a smooth dough forms. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for about 10 minutes.
    1½ Cups Wheat Flour, ¾ Cup Gram Flour (Besan / Chickpea Flour), ¼ teaspoon Turmeric Powder, ½ teaspoon Red Chili Powder, ½ teaspoon Ajwain / Carom Seeds / Omam, ¼ teaspoon Asafoetida (Asafetida / Hing), ¼ Cup Coriander Leaves, 2 teaspoon Ginger, 2 no Green Chili, 2 tablespoon Butter, 1 teaspoon Salt
  • After 10 minutes, divide the dough into lemon-sized balls. Lightly dust each ball with wheat flour and roll it out into a slightly thick roti. Repeat this process for the remaining dough balls.
  • Heat a pan over medium heat. Once hot, place a roti on the pan and cook until the bottom side is lightly golden. Flip and cook the other side until bubbles start to form. Apply butter or oil on both sides, then remove from the heat. Repeat the process for the remaining rotis.
