Mixer Grinder
Heavy Bottomed Pan
- 2 Cups Curry leaves Tightly Packed. 1 Cup - 250ml
- 4 Red Chili
- 3 tablespoon Urad Dal
- 1 tablespoon Split Bengal Gram (Channa Dal / Kadalaparuppu)
- ½ teaspoon Peppercorns
- 1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
- 1 teaspoon Salt Adjust As Needed
- ½ teaspoon Asafoetida (Asafetida / Hing)
- ½ teaspoon Tamarind Paste or 1 tamarind see Size dry tamarind
Preparing Grinding Ingredients
Dry roast the Dals, red chillies, peppercorns, cumin seeds and tamarind and fry till the Dals becomes golden brown color. Take this aside
Heat a pan, and dry fry the curry leaves till it becomes crispy and take this aside
Grinding Process
First grind the dals and spices along with salt to a coarse powder.
Then, add curry leaves and grind everything to a smooth powder
Storing and Serving
The mouth-watering curry leaves powder is ready to serve. Store it in air-tight container. You can keep it in refrigerator to maintain the freshness
Serve the delicious Kariveppilai Podi (Curryleaves Powder) with hot rice with one spoon of ghee
