Pasta with Tomato and Basil Sauce

Pasta with Tomato and Basil Sauce is a very yummy dish as well as a great lunchbox dish. Kids nowadays love to have noodles, pasta, spaghetti and other Italian and Chinese dishes which are equally delicious and different from our conventional foods. There a multiple varieties of recipes can be made using Pasta and this one is very simple and basic pasta dish

Kids love pasta and hence a perfect for your kids lunch box. Pasta is high in carbohydrate so make sure the rest of your kids lunch box contains plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables. A small green salad and some seasonal fruit wold be ideal.

Preparation Time 10 mins
Cooking Time  45 mins
Servings 4
Ingredients:

Pasta (Fusilli or Macarones) 250 gms
Onion 1 medium size
Tomato Basil Pasta Sauce 250 gms
Grated Cheese 2 teaspoon
Fresh Cream 1 teaspoon
Salt to taste
Pepper Powder ½ teaspoon
Sugar ¼ teaspoon
Olive Oil 1 tablespoon
Garlic Pods 3
Basil Leaves few

Method:
  1. Finely chop the onions and crush the garlic pods and ready with other ingredients. 
  2. Take a vesssel and add 2 cups of water and allow it to boil. When the waters starts to boil, add salt and add the pasta and allow it to cook in boiling water for 10-12 minutes. We can check the cooking method of the pasta in the back cover of the pasta that we have purchased
  3. Heat olive oil in a pan and add onions and crushed garlic and saute it nicely till the onions turns transparent. Add tomato-basil sauce and mix well and keep the flame low for 5 minutes. 
  4. After 5 minutes add salt, pepper and sugar and mix well and then add a cup of water and stir the pasta sauce regularly at 5 minute interval for about 30 minutes. By this time, the pasta would have cooked nicely and would be soft. Drain the excess water and keep the cooked pasta ready
  5. After 30 minutes the pasta sauce would have nicely cooked and blended with onions. Add shaved or grated cheese along with cream and mix well. To this add the cooked pasta and mix well
  6. Keep the flame low and cook the pasta for 5 more minutes. The cooked pasta would nicely blend with the sauce. Finally garnish with crushed pepper, grated cheese and basil leaves
  7. The Yummy Pasta with Tomato and Basil sauce is now ready to Serve! Slurp!!!
