South Indian Lunch Menu 23 - Anjarapetti Kuzhambu, Vazhaipoo Paruppu Usili,Garlic Rasam, Rice, Papad, Pickle

Last Updated On: Dec 28, 2017 by Sowmya Venkatachalam

This is one of my favourite Lunch menu. This lunch menu is very tasty and also easy to make. Though all of the dishes involves grinding, still we could finish this menu quickly. Vazhaipoo Usili is the slightest complex dish among the 3 dishes as it takes more time to remove the kalan and chop the vazhaipoo. Also we need to soak the dals for usili the previous night. If we forget, then we could add hot boiling water to the dals and soak it for an hour before making usili.

Anjaraipetti kuzhambu is one the simplest and tastier kuzhambu. Here also we are going to grind all the anjaraipetti items to make masala but still one of the quickest dish. Next is the garlic rasam. This is optional. Even the conventional tomato rasam would be a good combo for this menu. But I prefer garlic rasam. Also I always try to make usili if the main dish is any kuzhambu variety and not sambar as we already add more dals in sambar. This lunch menu is a not a rich combo, but surely a delicious and simple combo!!!
