Generally we make kunukku with left over adai batter. Adai batter is made using rice and mixed dal along with red chilies. Any left over adai batter can easily made into kunukku batter with chopped onions, green chili, coriander leaves. Along with this we can enhance the batter with roasted peanuts. Peanuts are also soaked along with rice, mixed dals grind into batter. This batter is then made into small dumplings and deep fried till it's golden brown. With rich peanut flavor this kunukku is a perfect tea time snack.
I made this on a fasting day, so didn't use onions. But for normal days, we can add finely chopped onions, green chili, coriander leaves to the batter and make it much more interesting and flavorful. Serve this crispy Peanut Kunukku with Coconut chutney or Coriander chutney or even with ketchup.
