Baby Corn fritters, a perfect starter for any grand menu. Most of us have tasted baby corn fritters in many restaurants, it is one of the simplest starter variety we can do in our home. I usually prefer either baby corn fritter or Paneer fingers for any parties at my home. Lets see how to make this simple and crispy Baby Corn Fritters.

Ingredients:
Baby Corn 12
Butter Milk ¾ Cup
Cumin Powder 2 teaspoon
Salt To taste
Maida / All purpose flour ½ Cup
Corn Flour ¼ Cup
Lemon Juice ½ teaspoon
Red Chilli Powder 1 teaspoon
Hing a Pinch
Oil For Deep Frying

Method:

  1. Wash the baby corns and Slit the baby corns into two halves. Heat 2 cups of water in a sauce pan and bring it to boil. Add the baby corns and allow it to boil for 5 minutes and then switch off the flame and cover the pan with a lid. Let the baby corns stand in hot water for another 5 minutes
  2. Then drain the water and take the semi cooked baby corns aside. In a mixing bowl, add butter milk, salt and a teaspoon of cumin powder and mix well. Add the semi cooked baby corns and mix well to coat it nicely and then allow the baby corns to marinade in the mixture. Keep the marinated mixture in refrigerator for an hour
  3. Meanwhile, take the maida, corn flour, cumin powder, red chilli powder and salt and add water little by little to make it to a batter which can coat the marinated baby corns. Finally add lemon juice and hing and give another stir. Heat oil in a pan. Remove the marinated baby corn from refrigerator and dip each baby corn in the prepared batter and coat it nicely and add it to the oil. Add 5-6 baby corns in each batch and deep fry them till they are crispy and turn golden brown in both the sides. Remove the fried baby corns fritters and place it in a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  4. The yummy and crispy baby corn fritters are ready to serve. Serve hot with ketchup and enjoy the taste!
