Doodh Peda is a popular milk-based sweet in India, traditionally crafted by simmering milk on low heat for hours to create khova, which is then shaped into pedas. While this traditional method delivers authentic flavor, it can be time-consuming and challenging for many. Fortunately, there's an easier and quicker way to enjoy this mouthwatering delicacy. By using condensed milk and milk powder, you can prepare these delectable sweets in just 15 minutes. The distinctive light yellow color in pedas comes from the addition of saffron threads, enhancing both the appearance and taste of this delightful treat.
Few Tips to make Doodh Peda
- Saffron Infusion: Soak saffron threads in warm milk for a rich saffron infusion. This adds a beautiful color and aromatic flavor to the pedas.
- Consistency Matters: Pay close attention to the consistency of the mixture. Stir the mixture until it thickens, becomes fluffy, and forms into a ball without sticking to the pan's sides.
- Flavor Enhancement: Enhance the flavor with cardamom powder. It complements the saffron beautifully and adds an extra layer of aroma.
- Decorate Creatively: Be creative with garnishes. Chopped pistachios or almonds can add a lovely crunch and visual appeal to the pedas.
- Cool Before Shaping: Allow the mixture to cool just enough to handle before shaping into pedas. This makes the process easier and prevents burning your hands.
