* 1 Cup = 250ml

Method:

  1. Grease a tin or container with ghee / butter and set it aside
  2. Heat a pan and add the mango puree. Heat the mango puree in medium flame and bring it to boil
  3. Take corn flour in a bowl. Add ½ cup water and stir well to make a smooth paste
  4. Add corn flour paste to the puree and stir continuously so that no lumps are formed. Keep stirring till the mixture is thick
  5. Then, add the sugar. Adding sugar dilutes the mixture again. Keep stirring. For any halwa, we need to have more strength in hand which is used exhaustively
  6. Add a teaspoon of ghee in a interval of every 5 minutes and keep stirring. Initially, the halwa mixture tends to absorb the ghee we are adding in intervals
  7. A stage is reached, where all the absorbed ghee oozes out of the halwa mixture. Till this consistency is reached, we need to stir continuously. But the moment the ghee oozes out, keep the flame low
  8. Add chopped cashews and badam and mix well and switch off the flame
  9. Pour the halwa mixture to the greased container and set it aside for 2 hours to set nicely
  10. Then cut the halwa into desired shapes and enjoy the delicious Mango Halwa
