Masala Chaai Recipe | Masala Tea Recipe | Homemade Masala Chaai Powder Recipe is a one of the favorite Indian beverage. Aroma rich homemade masala powder along with fresh ginger, milk, sugar & tea powder, makes this tea really delicious. Most of us love Masala chai compared to plain tea. Instead of using whole masala every time when we make tea, we can use the whole masala to make masala powder and store it in airtight container and use it whenever we make tea. This masala chai powder gives a wonderful flavor to the tea and the spice we will enjoy with the hot tea. Nowadays, we can get these Masala Chaai Powder readily available in grocery shops. But the main advantage in making this masala at home is that all the spices we use to make this yummy masala chaai powder will be fresh and has more dominating flavor than the store bought Masala Chaai Powder.

Nothing is so fresh than the food that we prepare in home with care. This Homemade Masala Chaai Powder is so handy. Each time, I make a cup of  tea, I add ¼th teaspoon of this yummy masala and it really enhances the overall taste of the Masala Chaai. Ingredients

Ingredients for Masala Chaai Powder:

  • 1.5 Tablespoon Cloves
  • ⅛ Cup Green Cardamom 1 cup = 250ml
  • ¾ Tablespoon Peppercorns
  • 1 inch Cinnamon Stick
  • ⅛ Cup Dry Ginger Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Nutmeg Powder

For Masala Chaai:

  • 2 Cups Water
  • 2 Cups Milk
  • 2 Tablespoon Black Tea
  • 2 Tablespoon Sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon Masala Chaai Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Freshly grated Ginger

Instructions 

Method for making Chaai Masala Powder:

  • Heat a pan and dry roast the cloves, cardamom, peppercorns and cinnamon stick till they are warm.
  • Take these ingredients to the mixer jar. Add dry ginger powder and nutmeg powder.
  •  Grind everything to a nice and smooth powder. Store it in an airtight container
  • The aroma rich Homemade Chaai Masala Powder is ready! Shelf life of this powder is about 6-8 months.

Method for making Masala Chaai:

  • Heat 2 cups of water. Add black tea powder, sugar, masala chaai powder, freshly grated ginger and bring it to boil. Add 2 cups of milk and bring it to boil.
  • Then simmer for 3-4 minutes and then switch off the flame. Strain the tea using tea strainer and serve hot!
  • Aroma rich Masala Chaai is ready!
