Iyengar Bakery Style Vegetable Masala Toast is an easy Open Toast which is simple to prepare. Vegetables are sautéed with spices and spread over toasted bread. This Delicious and outstanding sandwiches are very popular in  Bangalore Iyengar bakeries. Hot cup of tea with a slice of this Masala Toast is a perfect snack for a nice evening.

This Toast can be made quickly, it is filling and it's healthy too. But above all, this will be loved by all the age groups in the family. It's a great way to add the vegetables to the snack.

Iyengar Bakery Bread Toast is prepared using commonly available vegetables like onion, carrot, capsicum, cabbage, tomato  and coriander leaves. These vegetables are cooked with masala items to spice it up and added on to the the toast. You can skip the masalas and make it kids friendly version. Its equally tasty too.

This simple delicious masala sandwich topped with sauted onions, carrots, caspsicum and spices. This is an extreamly popular sandwich in Bangalore Iyengar Backery. It's spicy, colorful and packed with nutritions and goes well as breakfast or as an evening snack

Ingredients

  • 8 nos. Bread Slices
  • 1 tablespoon Butter for brushing Breads
  • 1 teaspoon Salt adjust to your taste

Vegetables

  • 1 nos Onion finely chopped
  • 1 nos Tomato finely chopped
  • 1 nos Carrot finely chopped
  • ½ nos Green Capsicum
  • ½ cup Chopped Cabbage
  • 2 tablespoon Coriander Leaves chopped, For Garnishing

Masala Items

  • ½ teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • ½ teaspoon Garam Masala
  • ¼ teaspoon Chaat Masala

Tempering

  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard Seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds

Instructions 

Start with Seasoning

  • Heat oil in pan. Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds and allow it to sputter. Add green chillies and sauté it in oil

Stir-Fry Veggies

  • Add chopped onions and sauté in oil till translucent. Add chopped tomatoes, carrot, green capsicum and cabbage and stir- fry all the veggies

Spice it up!

  • Add red chilli powder, garam masala, chaat masala, salt and mix well. Cover the pan with lid and allow the veggies to cook till soft

Garnishing

  • Once the veggies are cooked, garnish with coriander leaves. The Vegetable Masala ready!

Prepare the Bread

  • Heat the tawa. Take 2 bread slices and brush one side of them with butter. Keep the buttered side down on the tawa. Brush the top side again with ghee and toast the bread slices and take it to serving plate. Add 2 Teaspoon of filling to each toasted bread

Enjoy the Toast!

  • Serve the delicious Masala Toast Bread with Ketchup or any dipping of your choice and enjoy the delicious snack!

Method with step by step Pictures to make Iyengar Bakery Style Vegetable Masala Toast
