Tips for making Pepper Murukku Recipe | Spicy Peppercorns Indian Snack:

  • Butter should be at room temperature. For Vegan, we can use hot oil. Butter makes the murukku melt in the mouth.
  • Add water little by little and knead it to a soft dough. The dough should not be too soft or too hard. Too soft dough will be easy to squeeze but it will take more time to get deep fried and sometimes it tend to burst in oil.
  • We can use thenkuzhal mould or star mould to squeeze the dough out of it.
  • Initially the oil should be hot, if you add a pinch of dough, it should raise immediately. After squeezing the murukku, keep the flame in low to medium and fry the murukku till golden brown.
  • Drain excess oil, allow it to cool and then store in air-tight container for longer shelf-life.
