Cabbage Channa Dry Curry Recipe | Chole Patta Gobhi Curry Recipe

Generally we do lots of gravies as an accompaniment for chapati / roti. But dry curries would also be very tasty for chapati. There are lots of dry curries we can do like aloo methi, aloo patha gobi , aloo gobi curry etc. Cabbage Channa dry curry | Chole Patta Gobhi is a very tasty dry curry variety and goes very well not only with Indian breads and also with plain steamed rice.

Cabbage Channa Dry Curry Recipe | Chole  Patta Gobhi Curry Recipe
Ingredients:
Cabbage 300 grams
Chickpeas*  250 grams
Ginger Garlic Paste 1 Teaspoon
Onion 1 Medium size
Butter 1 tablespoon
Green Peas 2 table spoon
Coriander Leaves 1 handful
Sunflower / Cooking Oil 1 tablespoon
Cumin Seeds 1 teaspoon
Salt 1 teaspoon (Adjust to your taste)

* I have used store bought ready to use canned boiled chickpeas. If you don't prefer/get canned product then you need to soak the chick peas overnight and cook the chickpeas in the pressure cooker over three whistles. 
Masala Ingredients:
Turmeric Powder 1 teaspoon
Cumin Powder 1 teaspoon
Coriander Powder 1 ½ teaspoon
Pepper Powder  ½ teaspoon
Red Chilli Powder ½ teaspoon

Method:
  1. Chop the Onion, Green Chilli and Cabbage and keep it aside.
  2. Heat the Pan and add the cooking oil. Once the oil get the heat add the Cumin seeds. Once cumin seeds start to sputter add the Ginger Garlic paste, Onion and Green Chilli and saute it for about 5 minutes till the onions become transparent. 
  3. Add the Masala Ingredients (Turmeric powder, Cumin Powder, Coriander Powder, Pepper Powder and Red Chilli Powder) and cook for about a minute stirring continuously.Now add the copped cabbage 
  4. Sprinkle some water and mix well, so that the masalas will mix well with the cabbage. Sprinkle more water if required and cover and cook the cabbage along with salt. After about 5 minutes, add the Chickpeas and Green pass and mix well. (I have used store bought ready to use canned boiled chickpeas.   5. Allow the curry to cook in low flame for about 15 minutes. Remove the lid and continue cooking over high heat  for about 2-3 minutes to allow remaining liquid to evaporate. Finally add a table spoon of butter are remove it from flame
  6. Add the chopped coriander leaves and sever hot. Enjoy the tasty Cabbage Channa dry curry with chapati / roti / rice
