Onion Thepla Recipe | Onion Paratha Recipe

Onion thepla (Onion Paratha), Onions salted with masala along with generous addition of fresh coriander leaves are mixed with wheat flour and made it into delicious paratha (thepla). A very unique and tasty Paratha variety. Always we tend to use veggies like carrot, radish, bottle gourd and many more veggies in making thepla. But this onion-masala will be very delicious. The fresh coriander leaves will make this ultimately yummy and tasty. Serve this delicious Onion Thepla with raita or dal or any gravies of your choice and enjoy the dish!

Ingredients:
Wheat Flour 2 Cups*
Onion 2 big size finely chopped
Cumin seeds ½ teaspoon
Carom Seeds / Omam / Ajwain ½ teaspoon
Garam Masala ½ teaspoon
Coriander Powder 1 teaspoon
Salt To Taste
Finely Chopped Coriander leaves 1 Cup
Oil 2 tablespoon
Ghee For cooking theplas

* 1 Cup = 250ml

Method:
  1. Heat  1 tablespoon of oil sauce pan and add cumin seeds and carom seeds. Then add onions and saute the onions along with a pinch of salt. The salt will bring the moisture and cook the onions quickly.
  2. Add coriander powder and garam masala and saute the onions till they are translucent. Finally add finely chopped coriander leaves and mix well.  
  3. The onion-coriander masala ready!
  4. Take a mixing bowl, add wheat flour, salt, 1 tablespoon oil, onion-coriander masala and mix well. Add water little by little and knead everything to a smooth dough.
  5. Make lemon sized balls out of the dough. 
  6. Dust the dough ball with flour and roll it to thin paratha
  7. Heat a tawa, cook each paratha on both the sides by adding ghee
  8. Serve the delicious Onion Thepla with raita, dal or any gravy of your choice !
